Dear Friend, I thought you'd be interested in this campaign from California Nurses Foundation, in conjunction with the California Nurses Association (CNA) and National Nurses Organizing Committee (NNOC), to build a network of RN volunteers before the next disaster strikes. CNA/NNOC sent more than 300 nurses to the Gulf region following hurricanes Katrina and Rita, but now more than ever, we need to be prepared (in advance) to respond quickly when and where nurses are needed next--which could very well be in our own backyard. The new Registered Nurse Response Network (RNRN) will help accomplish this by establishing a database of RN volunteers who are ready to be deployed on a moments notice. 100% of all contributions will be reserved to provide travel and shelter so that RN volunteers can be deployed quickly, and without waiting to fundraise at the last minute.
