The short explanation of this alert was:
We all breathed a sigh of relief when lawmakers finally passed, and Governor Strickland signed, a new two-year state budget in July.
But things turned sour quickly when an Ohio Supreme Court ruling blasted nearly a $1 billion hole in the budget.
Please take action now to help protect Ohio’s environment by using the form at right! Your state lawmakers and Gov. Strickland need to act responsibly.
Tell them to balance Ohio’s budget without rolling back environmental protections or cutting even more funding from bare bone budgets that keep our parks open to enjoy, our drinking water safe to drink, and our air clean to breathe.
Without people like you to speak up, the Legislature and the Governor may cut even more of the funding that helps preserve Ohio’s natural beauty and protect our families from enviornmental hazards.
Email Governor Strickland now urging him and lawmakers to leave environmental protections in place as they look to balance Ohio’s budget.
Please take action now! Lawmakers are back at the Statehouse and considering how to balance the state budget. Let’s make sure they don’t cut any more funding from environmental conservation!
