Welcome to Glacier National Waste Dump? That’s the sight that might soon greet park visitors if Cline Mining Corporation has anything to do with it. Cline Mining Corporation is proposing a massive open-pit coal mine in the headwaters of the Flathead River, which forms Glacier's western boundary. The mine would sit within the spectacular views of Glacier National Park and includes several massive waste dumps in the river. The Flathead River supports a wide array of wildlife, including wolves, lynx, moose and the mighty grizzly bear. Furthermore, the contaminated mine runoff threatens the already jeopardized bull trout. Our neighbors to the North in Canada need to know that this proposal is a step in the wrong direction for both countries. Take action today!
