The short explanation of this alert was:
Ohio’s public transit riders are about to get left out in the cold.
Those who choose to ride a city bus or communter train, or have no other transportation option, may soon be waiting longer and paying more for fewer buses and trains throughout Ohio’s biggest cities.
Take action now to make sure that doesn’t happen!
- A grandmother going to her doctor appointment.
- A student getting to class on time.
- A worker who wants to avoid the hassle of driving downtown.
Everyone who relies on city buses will have fewer options unless the way we fund public transit service changes in Ohio.
Don’t let this happen. Use the form at right to take action now!
Each weekday, city buses and commuter trains deliver more than half a million Ohioans to work, school, and other destinations.
Despite growing demand for public transportation, declining sales tax revenue is forcing transit agencies in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, and Toledo to slash service and raise fares.
Join the OEC and other public transit advocates in our campaign to rescue public transportation funding in Ohio.
Use the form at right to write to your state senator and representative urging them to save our public transit system.
