White House: Let High-Risk Patients Have Abortion Coverage

The Obama administration has given women's health a boost: patients whose pre-existing conditions make them uninsurable will finally qualify for insurance, thanks to new high-risk pools. But there's a catch: these women will have no coverage for abortion.

Tell the White House to not to punish women for needing abortions!

Talking Points

- The White House is withholding abortion coverage from patients whose health problems put them into high-risk insurance pools.
- These women will finally be able to afford treatment for their pre-existing conditions, but they won't get help terminating a pregnancy that is making those conditions worse—unless they are victims of rape or incest or their lives are in danger.
- Abortion care for women with complex health needs can cost thousands of dollars. No one should be forced to choose between physical and financial health.
