1995:
AHF built Linn House as an AIDS hospice to serve the Los Angeles community after obtaining loans from the City of Los Angeles and the state.
At that time we did not know that lifesaving treatment was right around the corner and the need for AIDS hospice would soon be dramatically reduced.
Six years ago:
We informed the City and State of the change of use of Linn House from inpatient hospice to nursing case management and health care operations.
Six years later:
The City says it's an improper use and is threatening to foreclose.
January 2008:
AHF made a good faith offer to fully repay the City the principle amount of the loan, which was $1.1 million and the City rejected the offer.
