The short explanation of this alert was:

The U.S. Congress will vote soon on legislation that expands the Patriot Act and strips immigrants of basic rights. 

Under this legislation:

- Asylum seekers who face persecution in their home countries will be denied entry to the United States;
- Green card holders engaged in lawful political expression will face deportation;
- Millions of immigrants living in the United States will be prohibited from obtaining driver's licenses.

Defenders of individual liberty:  Now is the time to raise your voice in opposition to the "REAL ID" Act!
