Help Fight Congress's $1 Trillion Health Care Takeover!

There is little doubt that America's health care system needs a fundamental overhaul. As we pursue a more efficient way of delivering the services people need, we must choose from two paths: patient-centric, consumer-driven reform based on market principles, or raising taxes and handing more control over to a government that can't run anything efficiently.

Democrats in both the House and Senate are working right now to enact legislation that would dramatically expand the size and power of the federal government by giving it an even greater role in health care. Current proposals would raise over $500 billion in taxes in order to fund a government-run insurance plan and a massive web of subsidies. Those taxes are supposed to "pay for" the enormous cost of the plan (along with some savings elsewhere), but analysts say it would still grow our massive deficit by more than $800 billion in the coming years.

If passed, this legislation would give Americans less freedom to choose the health care plans and services that fit their needs, while dramatically escalating costs and causing millions to get bumped from their current coverage. Simply put, this scheme would set us firmly on the path toward a single-payer, government-dominated health care system devoid of the kind of freedom and choice that most Americans seek.
