Two vicious crimes were recently committed against members of our community because they are gay.
In two separate incidents, these two individuals were simply just being. The perpetrators of these crimes were heard to call the victims vile, ignorant slurs while they were caught off guard and beaten.
In light of these crimes, it is outrageous that the Michigan Senate has done nothing about passing the Hate Crimes Bill. Innocent people are being attacked because others do not appreciate difference.
Do you know why your State Senator has done nothing to protect you from being the next victim of a hate crime? Your Senator has done nothing because he or she has been scared by the opposition. Your Senator is scared to stand up for equality and scared to support you when it comes to ANY issue to protect or respect lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender people.

1. Give HB 4835 & HB 4836 a Judiciary Committee Hearing and Support both bills;
2. Pass HB 4835 & HB 4836 to the Full Senate for a Vote.
3. Vote in favor of HB 4835 & HB 4836
Michigan cannot survive if it continues to be a place where it is okay to hate and lash out.
