The short explanation of this alert was:
Momentum is building for the end of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," but your Senators need to hear from you!
The Military Readiness Enhancement Act (H.R. 1246) was reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on February 28, 2007 with the support of 110 bi-partisan cosponsors. The bill would repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and allow lesbian, gay, and bisexual service members to serve openly and honestly. Parallel legislation will soon be introduced in the U.S. Senate.
Your Senators can support this measure by becoming cosponsors. Tell them today to lend their support!
Your letter will be most effective if you modify the example below to reflect your personal views and experiences. If you've served in the military, say so! Your voice can make the difference.
