 CELEBRATE THE HISTORY OF
FREETHOUGHT IN INDIANAPOLIS

On Sunday, November 8, we will be celebrating the history and the continuation of the Freethought presence in Indianapolis at our 2009 Spirit and Place Event at the Athenaeum at 2:00 pm.   Read Reba's Blog: A Magnificient Victory Monument for the Rational Outlook on Life for the history of the Freethought presence in Indianapolis.  More details are on the Spirit and Place website.

  • Be sure to come for the tours at 1:00 or 4:00.
  • View the exhibit in the lobby.
  • Listen to the panel presentation at 2:00. 
  • Then stay for dinner at the Rathskeller after the program.  

FREE admission.
No reservations necessary.

CFI Kids—Sunday, November 8, 3:00 pm, Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis.  Topic: Beginning of a series on Culture and Morality.  Joe Oliver is the leader of this group.  

Celebrate Carl Sagan Day—November 9, 7:30 pm, Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis.  November 7 is the 75th anniversary of the birth of Carl Sagan.   Film and discussion.  This will be a joint meeting with IUPUI Freethinkers.  Discussion leader: Andrew Olson.

CFI Young Adults—Thursday, November 12, 6:00-8:00 pm, Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis.  Guided Topic: Blasphemy Day.

PZ Myers at Purdue University—Thursday, November 12, 6:00 pm, Purdue University, Class of 1950 Lecture Hall, 648 Oval Drive, West Lafayette, IN.   "A Few Things I've Learned from Creationists"

Secular Family Network Pitch-In Lunch—Saturday, November 14, noon, Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis.   Bring your family and food to share.

Coffee and Conversation—every Sunday, 10:00 am to noon at Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis, IN.  Unstructured conversation and socializing.

CFI Young Adults—every Sunday, 1:00 pm, Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis.  Open discussion.

English as a New Language—every Saturday at Center for Inquiry Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis, IN.  This is for anyone from any language background who wants to learn and improve their English speaking skills.  No charge.
