Antonio R. Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles

As Mayor of Los Angeles, I am working hard to find effective solutions to our public education crisis. I support Prop. 82 because it offers a real boost not only to young children but to our public elementary and high schools. A quality preschool experience gives children an opportunity to develop important educational and social skills when they are eager and ready to learn. Currently, too many children miss out on the opportunity to attend preschool and therefore, enter kindergarten behind their peers. Every child should get the chance to be a lifelong learner and preschool is the best way to help strengthen their lives and our economy. Teachers agree preschool gives kids a strong start and a solid foundation for the rest of their lives.

Join me in supporting our children. Vote yes on Prop. 82 on June 6.

--Antonio R. Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles

Proposition 82, the Preschool for All Initiative, would provide a high-quality, voluntary preschool education to every 4-year-old in California.  For more information, please visit www.action.preschoolcalifornia.org.
