Subject: STOP The Mitch Who Stole Christmas!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

We won't let you steal Christmas! American workers deserve a good job, with guaranteed healthcare, retirement security, and union rights.

While you were giving billions in bailouts to Wall Street, you were harming American auto workers with your demand they take cuts in pay and healthcare coverage this holiday season.

It makes no sense to line the pockets of corporations and CEOs with money you take from working-class families.

So here's a lump of coal, and a holiday greeting for you: find some Christmas cheer...or a new line of work!

Sincerely,

Background Information

Mitch McConnell supported the Wall Street Bailout. Now he wants auto workers to accept massive cuts in pay and healthcare.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell supported the Wall Street Bailout. Now he wants auto workers to accept massive cuts in pay and healthcare. His heart two sizes too small.   He's trying to steal Christmas this year from millions of American auto workers, their families, and their communities.

This Mitch isn't attacking Whoville.  He's attacking the American middle class and good union jobs, by demanding massive pay cut for auto workers are being told to accept massive cuts in pay and health coverage as the price for their bailout.

Meanwhile, Wall Street CEOs like Martin Sullivan of AIG get their bailouts with no strings attached.  Sullivan earned $21,000 an HOUR last year, while the average auto worker receives $40 per hour in salary and $55 including healthcare and retirement.

This holiday season, let's save these jobs, fight for these families, and stand up for unions and the American auto industry.  Send The Mitch a lump of coal inscribed with your personal message about why they need to find some Christmas cheer--or a new line of work.

MORE TALKING POINTS:

American auto workers should not be asked to accept massive cuts in pay, pensions, and health coverage while large corporations and CEOs are bailed out by the government.

Tens of thousands of auto workers are now facing a Christmas without jobs as the auto industry temporarily closes scores of plants.

America's collapsing economy and broken healthcare system are bad enough without calling for even greater cuts in the living standards of working class people.

The fact is, everyone deserves a good paying job, guaranteed healthcare, a secure retirement, and to be treated with respect and dignity on the job.

Stop faulting working families and unions--the foundation upon which this great country was built--for America's economic crisis and corporate bailouts!

Thank you!
