Bob Corker of Tennessee demanded auto workers accept massive cuts in pay and health coverage as the price for providing the auto companies the same bailout they offered with no strings attached to the nation's biggest banks and investment corporations this fall. As a result of the this deplorable action, tens of thousands of auto workers are facing a Christmas without jobs as the auto industry is temporary closing scores of plants, joining hundreds of thousands left behind because of continuing policies of Legislators such as McConnell. Apparently the collapsing economy and healthcare system is not enough for some in Congress. They want even greater cuts in living standards for working people and families. And they want to punish unions and penalize workers who roll back protections workers have won through their unions. It's time for all of us to take a stand. Unions built this country, and won improved conditions for all American workers. Everyone deserves a good paying job, guaranteed healthcare, a secure retirement, and to be treated with respect and dignity on the job. Thank you!
