Join us at the inaugural "Power of Partnership" quarterly program series, co-presented by Craigslist Foundation, The Foundation Center, and Northern California Grantmakers. This free series, hosted at the World Affairs Council (312 Sutter St., betw. Stockton & Grant) will showcase successful models of collaboration, with an emphasis on lessons learned, pitfalls to avoid, and networking. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Topic: California's Budget Crisis: How Bay Area Nonprofits are Responding
An impressive panel of three Bay Area nonprofit sector representatives will address the issue from different perspectives.
The panelists include:
1) Sherry Simmons from Northern California Community Loan Fund, who will speak on behalf of the coalition led by Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits that worked together to address proposed budget cuts in Santa Clara County.
2) Steve Fields, S.F. Human Services Network, Steering Committee Co-Chair, and Executive Director of Progress Foundation. Steve will address how the crisis is affecting county & city government funding and how local nonprofit social service organizations are responding.
3) Jacob Harold, Program Officer, Philanthropy Program at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Jacob will discuss ways that Hewlett is helping grantees in light of the current California budget cuts as well as what he has seen as ingredients for successful collaborations.
