PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS IMMEDIATELY!

PA Representative Mark Cohen will introduce Amendment 11215 to House Bill 2380, otherwise known as the Budget Bill, to increase the appropriation for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grants to arts organizations by an additional $1.5 million. This supplementary increase, added to the increase already requested by Governor Edward G. Rendell in February, will raise the state appropriation for Grants-to-the-Arts to $17.225 million. This funding level will provide much-needed additional resources next year as the PCA works to serve the people of Pennsylvania through support for nonprofit arts organizations, arts programs, and artists; arts in education; and continuing investments in partnerships and initiatives.

We need your help NOW. Please take a minute to email your legislator, to let he/she know that you support this increase and would like them to vote for a budget that includes Rep. Cohen's amendment. Use the form on the right to automatically send an email.

Also, take a few more minutes to forward this e-mail to friends, family and board members asking them to also contact their legislators on this important issue.

Subject: Support Amendment 11215 to House Bill 2380

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

When PA Representative Mark Cohen introduces Amendment 11215 to House Bill 2380, he will propose an increase in the appropriation for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grants to arts organizations by an additional $1.5 million. This increase in the agency's grants for the arts enables PCA to broaden the availability of the arts in Southeastern Pennsylvania as well as to support the arts and culture sector in a meaningful way. PCA dollars sustain our region's cultural assets and keep Southeastern PA competitive in attracting residents, businesses, and tourists. Thank you for considering this request to support increased funding for the PCA.

Sincerely,
