Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our Public Hospital Action Center advocacy site homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect and How We Use It
When you register at the Public Hospital Action Center advocacy website, we ask you to provide contact information including: name, mailing address, e-mail address, and which NAPH member hospital or health system you are associated with, if any. We also need to know if you are an employee of the hospital or health system with which you are associated.

We use persistent cookies in order to identify you when you visit the Public Hospital Action Center and to make your use of our site more efficient and user friendly. The cookies allow the site to "remember" you, so you do not have to enter your information every time you wish to take action on an alert. It also allows us to know if you have already taken action on a current or earlier alert. You are not required to enable cookies in order to access and use the site however you will have to reenter your personal information each time you visit. We also store your personally-identifiable information and other information about your use of the site in a database and use the information to help you use the site more efficiently, for example, by taking you more directly to areas of the site you most frequently visit.

If you have identified yourself as being associated with a particular hospital or health system, we use this information along with other information you provide about yourself and information provided by your hospital or health system (i) to match you with the appropriate message for your NAPH member affiliation and the appropriate legislators or policy makers to contact for that particular action alert, and (ii) we use your email address to provide you with alerts and notices that you may be interested in. We presently intend to direct communications directly to our NAPH members for dissemination to you and your colleagues at the discretion of the member. If you identify yourself as an employee of an NAPH member hospital or health system, we will not share any personally-identifiable information with your employer, including whether or not you have taken action on a specific campaign.

If you are not associated with a member hospital or health system, we may contact you directly regarding alerts and notices unless you opt out. You may opt out of receiving any emails or other communications from us by sending an email to government@naph.org.

If you use the Tell-a-Friend option, we will only use the information collected from you to send your contact an email message to participate in the campaign you are referring them to.

We will also use information collected during your use of our site to develop non-identifying, aggregate information to better design our website and to better target our advocacy messages. We may also use this information to detect trends in support among site users for various political initiatives and policies.

We never use or share the personally-identifiable information provided to us online, or send email alerts or notices, in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. We will never sell or rent your personally-identifiable information to third parties.

Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How You Can Access or Correct Your Information
You can access, correct and delete online all your personally- identifiable information that we collect and maintain by logging in to the action center using your email address and password. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. You may request removal from the Public Hospital Action Center member list, or correct or delete your personal information from our database at any time by sending an email to government@naph.org.

How We Can Amend this Policy We can amend this policy at any time by substituting a revised version of the policy on the website. We will notify you of such amendment by posting a new Effective Date. If you have any objections to the revised policy, please email us at the above address. Unless we hear from you within thirty (30) days from the new Effective Date of the policy, we can assume that you have agreed to our use of the information we have collected from you under the terms of the revised policy.
