New Jersey Audubon educators understand this well.  After all, how many times have we heard about

that chance encounter... that one brush with fate... that moment when it all clicked? 

Indeed, we see it happen nearly every day. 

The future of our planet depends on the college student craning her neck to follow a Red-shouldered Hawk soaring in the distance.  It relies on the senior citizen crouching in a meadow to glimpse a nectaring red admiral butterfly.  It desperately needs muddy children to squish in our streams, flush toads from our fields, peek under rocks, marvel at the colors, and to honor the place and function of all living things.

 New Jersey Audubon's statewide network of nature centers conduct more than 3,000 scheduled programs, spanning the seasons to serve close to 100,000 residents and visitors annually.  With every joyful moment, every curious adventure, every remarkable occurrence we grow more vested in our environmental future.
