Greetings, Congratulations to New Jersey and our NJ Audubon members! Yesterday, New Jersey approved the Green Acres, Clean Water Act -- Public Question #1 on the statewide ballot -- which will continue the state's programs that have been so successful in preserving natural areas and wildlife habitat across our state. New Jersey Audubon, our members, and our partners in the NJ Keep It Green coalition worked hard to give voters this choice on the ballot and to encourage its passage yesterday. One estimate is that it will save over 70,000 acres from development, especially in ecologically precious areas. Together, we can be proud that we will be making this investment in preserving wildlife habitat, clean water, and many of the other things we love most about New Jersey. Passage of the Act is also a high-return investment in our state's economy and the health of our citizens now and in the future. We look forward to the many wonderful stewardship, recreation and education opportunities that yesterday's success will afford us all! The New Jersey Audubon Society congratulates you again, and looks forward to experiencing many of these great opportunities with you!
