National Taxpayers Union was founded in 1969 to protect every American's most fundamental right - the right to keep what they have earned.

Over the past thirty years, as Washington special-interests have sprung up like crabgrass and demanded more and more spending, taxpayers have been under constant assault from politicians eager to please big-government lobbyists. It's been our goal to stop them.

NTU was incorporated under section 501 (c) (4) of the Internal Revenue Code to lobby Congress with respect to fiscal and economic policy. NTU is a non-partisan, public interest advocacy organization dedicated to lower taxes, less wasteful spending, and the principles of rational and limited government.
