Is Suffolk County a climate of
fear? It is for many of our community’s Latino residents.
Join
the Suffolk County Chapter of the NYCLU on Saturday, Nov. 14 for
our annual meeting to find out more and learn what you can do to
help stop the hate.
Our keynote speaker is
Dr. Heidi Beirich, director of research and special projects for
the Southern Poverty Law Center, which recently released the
report Climate of Fear: Latino Immigrants in Suffolk
County NY. Dr. Beirich helps
run the SPLC’s Intelligence Project, the premier operation
in the US tracking the
domestic radical right. In addition to the keynote address, hear
about the work of your local chapter, and then cast your vote
for the Suffolk County Chapter’s Board of
Directors.
