Federal Budget - FY 2009 Funding Bill
Federal Budget
Did you know?
Since October 2008 many federally funded programs including education are being funded from a continuing resolution due to lack of signature by President Bush. The result of the funding not being completed means programs have operated under a continuing resolution maintaining previous funding levels until March 2009.
We need your assistance as Congress begins to work on the fiscal funding year 2009 and more importantly the educational funding bill (H.R. 1105). This week the House passed a funding bill for the remainder of FY 09.
The next step is passage in the Senate.
Please contact Ohio Senators Voinovich and Brown expressing the need to vote in the affirmative for education!

Subject: Vote Yes on the FY 09 Funding Bill
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As you are aware, Public Education Programs in Ohio are critical to rebuilding our economy. Many students in Ohio will not have the opportunity to learn the skills they need to be successful in a rapidly changing economy.
In Ohio, educators now face reductions in force, a budget with many uncertainties and more students who are in need of educational services.
You can be a part of the positive success story in Ohio. Vote for Ohio! Vote Yes, along with the House, on the FY 09 funding bill that is currently in the Senate.
Sincerely,
|
