Operation Rescue will target LeRoy Carhart, MD, in the first anti-abortion protest since George Tiller, MD, was murdered.

Here are some of the people standing with Dr. Carhart. We thank him for helping so many women and their families.

Dear Dr. Carhart,

You are our hero. Every day, you and your staff save women's lives by providing abortion and contraception. You have gone to the Supreme Court twice in defense of women's health. You have endured years of harassment and violence--including arson that destroyed your family's home. And you have continued to treat patients and remain public as an abortion provider despite the murder of your colleague and friend, Dr. George Tiller.

We wish you could do your work in peace and quiet. Instead, you will be the target of the first major anti-abortion protest since Dr. Tiller was killed.

You do not deserve this. But we hope you know that, no matter how big the demonstration is, it doesn't represent America.

When those protestors come to your clinic, think of us. Think of your fellow abortion providers applauding you. Think of the people pushing for better laws to protect you and your practice. Think of your patients and their deep gratitude for your help. Think of the men and women across the country who value what you do.

We are all behind you.
