The goal of the San Diego Smart Energy Solutions Campaign is to work at the grassroots level to stop SDG&E's proposed Sunrise Powerlink project and promote renewable energy alternatives for the San Diego region. 

The Sunrise Powerlink is a proposed 150-mile, $1.3 billion transmission that would allow the construction of intrusive electric transmission towers through the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, protected wilderness areas and local communities. This fossil-fueled line would increase air pollution, contribute to global warming and do irreparable harm to pristine wilderness areas.
