Greetings,
Please Write A Letter to the Editor!
Thank Commissioner Dian Grueneich for Doing the
Right Thing by Delaying the Sunrise Powerlink Proceedings!
Thank
you again for attending our Organizing Meeting
on Tuesday night. One of the exciting things about the Sierra
Club is our ability to come together as regular people to
accomplish big goals by doing small things at the
Grassroots level. With your help, we will do just that to
defeat the Sunrise Powerlink
and bring smarter energy alternatives to San Diego!
As a member of the Letter
to the Editor "Rapid Response Team," you will be
the front line in our media strategy to influence elected
officials, shape media coverage and inform our friends and
neighbors. I would like to
tell you about your first big opportunity to make a difference.
This past Monday, the San
Diego Union-Tribune and The
North County Times published articles announcing California
Public Utilities Commissioner Dian Grueneich's decision to delay
the Sunrise Powerlink proceedings, because SDG&E
intentionally withheld crucial information about the
Sunrise Powerlink project. This was a wise move by
Commissioner Grueneich and she deserves our
thanks!
Can you write a letter to the
editor of the
San Diego Union Tribune and The North County
Times?
Letters to the
Editor guidelines are as follows:
*Limited to 200
words
*Must include (1)
full name, (2) address and (3) phone number

Here are sample LETTER TO THE
EDITOR talking points:
1. Thank CPUC Commissioner Dian
Grueneich for
doing the right thing by delaying the Sunrise Powerlink
proceedings.
2. Emphasize that San Diego needs
smart, local, renewable energy solutions. Sunrise Powerlink is not the right
choice for ratepayers, local communitied or the
environment.
3. State that Sunrise Powerlink
sets a terrible precedent by allowing a high voltage
transmission line to slice through a State Park (Anza-Borrego
Desert State Park) and protected wilderness areas for the first
time in California's history.
After you send your letter to the
editor, please email me a copy at mmitrosky@sierraclubsandiego.org.
Thanks again for rolling up your sleeves to get involved in the
fight to save Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, protected
wilderness areas and the backyards of local communities from
this terrible and unnecessary project!
Best,
Micah
