Last week, I
told you about the amazing efforts of over 1,000
activists who attended the Sunrise Powerlink Public
Hearings to send a message to decision makers and public
officials that we have smarter energy alternatives than the
unnecessary, damaging Sunrise Powerlink. The
overwhelming attendance prompted California Public
Utilities Commissioner Dian Grueneich to comment in the San
Diego Union-Tribune, “This is among the
most extensive public participation we've seen for any

Although we have passed a significant milestone, our battle
is not over. This is why I need you to attend
our upcoming Volunteer Mobilization Meeting to learn about the
next steps in the campaign and simple, effective things you can
do to help protect local communities, Anza-Borrego Desert State
Park and the Cleveland National Forest from this devastating
proposal. At the meeting, I will give a briefing about
the Hearings, then discuss how you can do your part to ensure a
smart energy future for San Diego. Details are below:
