Since then, San Onofre State Beach has grown to become California's 5th most popular state park.  Visitors including hikers, bikers, birders, campers, and surfers come from all over the globe to enjoy the world class surf breaks at Trestles Beach and the quiet natural camping experience at San Mateo Campground.   The Foothill-South Toll Road threatens to bisect San Onofre State Beach, endangering our clean great surf, ruining the camping experience and robbing future generations of their natural heritage.
