Dear Friend: The Sierra Club Sierra Sage Group is hosting its annual barbeque at the Audubon Society's beautiful Starr Ranch, and you're invited. In the past three years the well-attended Starr Ranch BBQ has raised thousands of dollars for Friends of the Foothills to help keep the Foothill South Tollroad out of San Onofre State Beach, the Donna O'Neill Land Conservancy and other natural open space.
Join us on Sunday April 26th from 1-5 PM for food, hiking, bird watching, good music and great conversation. For the fourth year in a row, the Starr Ranch staff plan to have a live video feed from a red shouldered hawk's nest as the mother hawk feeds her young chicks.
Tickets are $30 per person, $15 for children under 12. To request tickets, send check, made out to SIERRA SAGE, and a self-addressed stamped envelope to Starr Ranch BBQ, c/o Mike Sappingfield, 26352 Via Juanita, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
The $30 cost is reduced to $15 for those who sign up to help with the cooking, serving, parking and other duties necessary to make the event such a success. Tickets go fast so sign up early; directions will accompany the tickets.
