Friend,

The Ohio Environmental Council urges Cincinnati residents to vote NO on Issue 9 on Tuesday's ballot.

Issue 9 is promoted as a referedum on a local streetcar proposal, but its wording is so broad that it could be applied to any passenger rail project involving Cincinnati, including the 3C Corridor proposal that would link Cincinnati to Dayton, Columbus, and Cleveland.

The OEC believes that Issue 9 could derail the proposed 3C train from reaching Cincinnati. If that happens, the city will miss out on the benefits of daily passenger rail service:
  • commerce
  • convenience
  • connection
To read more about Issue 9 and the OEC's reasons for opposing it, click here or contact Coby Williams, the OEC's Legislative and Public Affairs Associate and a Cincinnati native, at Coby@theOEC.org.

We urge you to vote NO on Issue 9 AND NO on State Issue 2 on the November 3rd ballot.

Sincerely,

Keith Dimoff
Executive Director
