Support Baldwin Amendment to ENDA Today!
As soon as tomorrow the U.S. House of Representatives will take the historic step of voting on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). This legislation (H.R. 3685) does not currently offer protections for transgender people or any gender variant people. Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin will be offering an amendment to ENDA to ensure that it protects transgender people. Please contact your member of Congress now to tell them you support ENDA and the Baldwin Amendment for transgender inclusion.
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , Please support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) AND the Baldwin amendment, which will ensure that all gender variant people in our country are protected from discrimination. Congress should get this right the first time and offer civil rights protections to as many people as possible. ENDA is incomplete without "gender identity or expression" protection. The livelihood of millions of GLBT people is at stake. More importantly, we cannot turn our back on segments of our community. We must demand that Congress pass an inclusive ENDA.
Employment discrimination ruins lives and hurts our economy and the fabric of our culture. We must legally prohibit discrimination in employment to guarantee that all Americans are treated fairly at work.
