Dear friend,

On Wednesday, March 28, I am going to be in Lansing for Safe Schools Lobby Day, taking a stand for something I believe in - safe schools for every child in Michigan.
The purpose of Safe Schools Lobby Day is to visit our State Senators and Representatives to ask them to support Matt's Safe Schools Law, a bill that would require every Michigan school district to adopt and enforce a uniform policy against bullying. The bill is named after Matt Epling, a 14-year-old Lansing-area boy who committed suicide after being bullied. Sadly, Matt Epling is not the only Michigan child who has committed suicide - or dropped out, or missed an education from fear of coming to school - because of bullying.

Bullying affects almost every child who attends a Michigan public school - average students and gifted students, overweight kids and average-weight kids, straight kids and gay kids. That?s why Triangle Foundation is mobilizing the entire community, straight and gay alike, to do something about this problem.
